The chairman of the committee got acquainted with the process of preparing the seeds of the autumn cocoon for the spring season

In the Surkhandarya region, the production of cocoon raw materials and silk fiber has grown significantly in recent years. Now in this area, a large-scale work is being carried out to bring the quality level of grown products in line with world requirements, which is one of the pressing issues of today.

Chairman of the Committee for the Development of Sericulture and Wool Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan B. Sharipov and First Deputy Khokim of Surkhandarya Region F. Mamanov got acquainted with the work carried out in the region to organize the production of high-yielding silkworm seeds at the Huashen Silk Worm Pro joint venture.

Currently, the joint venture Huashen Silk Worm Pro, located in the Angora region, is preparing silkworm seeds for the third and fourth seasons of growing cocoons this year. The seed preparation processes at the enterprise have been going on continuously for 9 months, and rural women in the region are constantly employed. Chinese specialists are also involved for high-quality seed preparation.

In addition to fully covering the demand in the Surkhandarya region, the seeds of the industrial silkworm hybrid are supplied by this enterprise to the Kashkadarya and Andijan regions. In terms of quality indicators, silkworm seeds began to compete with seeds that are made in China.

During the spring cocoon growing seasons, an average of 70-80 kg of cocoons were harvested from 1 box of silkworm seeds prepared by Huashen Silk Worm Pro. The highest indicator for this indicator was 110 kg. From the seeds of the silkworm, fed at the seed-growing enterprise, on average, 100-105 kg of cocoons were obtained.
