The current state of relations between Uzbekistan and Belgium

As part of a visit to Brussels on September 6, 2022, Foreign Minister The delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Vladimir Norov held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs, Foreign Trade and federal cultural institutions of Belgium Haja Lakhbib.
The negotiations discussed the current state and prospects for the development of relations between Uzbekistan and Belgium. The growing ties in the political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres were noted with satisfaction.
The importance of accelerating bilateral dialogue, including organizing visits at various levels, conducting consultations between foreign ministries, supporting each other within the framework of international structures was noted.
The parties applauded that in November 2021, the business mission of Belgian business circles to Uzbekistan, organized by the Vallonia agency for export and foreign investment (AWEX) and the Flemish investment and Trade Agency (FIT), brought effective results. At the same time, the presence of unused potential in the field of trade and investment was noted.
Uzbekistan and Belgium expressed their readiness to accelerate relations in all directions. At the end of this year, it was agreed to work out the issue of holding the next round of Political Consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of the two states in Tashkent.
