The delegation of Uzbekistan held talks at the US Financial Corporation for International Development

On November 8, 2020, the delegation of Uzbekistan led by Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov met in Washington with the Chief Executive Officer of the US Financial Corporation for International Development (DFC) Adam Bohler.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during A. Bolera's visit to Uzbekistan on June 29 - July 1, and also outlined the prospects for further deepening bilateral partnership in attracting foreign direct investment and new technologies in the development of industries, services and infrastructure.

It was noted that the Uzbek side is interested in implementing projects with the participation of DFC in the development of oil and gas, energy, chemical, transport, construction, banking, pharmaceutical and other sectors of the economy of Uzbekistan. In this context, the head of the American corporation confirmed his interest in creating a Central Asian Investment Fund aimed at promoting large infrastructure projects.

An important promising area of cooperation between Uzbekistan and DFC is the improvement of infrastructure and socio-economic reconstruction of Afghanistan. In this context, the parties noted the need to strengthen the dialogue within the framework of the C5 + 1 platform and the trilateral format of cooperation "Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-USA" launched in May this year.

Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the talks.
