According to our diplomatic mission in Washington, Uzbekistan's Ambassador to the United States Javlon Vakhabov met with Vice President of The Heritage Foundation James Carafano, Director of the Foreign Policy Center of this institution Luke Coffey, Research Manager and Editor of the Index of Economic Freedom Anthony Kim and Sr. researcher John Venable.

During the talks, representatives of The Heritage Foundation noted that the results of reforms and changes in the domestic and foreign policy of Uzbekistan over the past five years are distinguished by their scale and focus on solving the most pressing issues in the country.

According to our embassy, on September 10 this year, it is planned to hold a special briefing on reforms and strategies for the further development of Uzbekistan for the next five years on the basis of The Heritage Foundation. The event will be attended by representatives of the White House, State Department, Department of Commerce, business and expert circles of the United States, as well as the media.

The Heritage Foundation, together with The Wall Street Journal, annually publishes the Index of Economic Freedom, a unified indicator and rating that assesses the level of economic freedom in the world in terms of property rights and freedom from government regulation. The factors for calculating the index are government corruption, income tax and corporate tax rates, government spending, banking restrictions, labor laws, the black market, and others.
