The leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia discussed topical issues

On August 22, a telephone conversation of the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the president of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin took place.
Urgent issues of strengthening bilateral strategic partnership and allied relations, the development of regional cooperation were considered taking into account the upcoming high-level events.
Particular attention was paid to the preparation and holding of meetings within the framework of the next meeting of the Council of heads of states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which will be held in Samarkand in the middle of September this year.
In addition, the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Russia discussed, first of all, the practical aspects of promoting joint projects and programs in the trade, economic and investment spheres.
The importance of continuing active contacts and exchanges at the level of governments and departments was noted.
The leaders of the two countries supported the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between the regions of Uzbekistan and Russia. In this regard, in the fall of this year, an important importance is attached to the holding of an Interregional Forum in our country.
