The Minister of Foreign Affairs Pekka Haavisto: Finland does not intends to join in NATO

"Finland is not discussing with NATO whether to join it or its future plans," he told a conference after meeting with his EU counterparts.

Finland's security policy will not change, he said.

The day before, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Finland wanted to join the alliance.

In early January, Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin said the opportunity to apply for membership remained because the country was free in its security decisions.
