The President of Uzbekistan and the head of the ADB have identified new directions for expanding the strategic partnership

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received President of the Asian Development Bank Masatsugu Asakawa on March 24 within the framework of the Tashkent International Investment Forum.

It was noted with satisfaction at the meeting that bilateral relations are developing rapidly. In recent years, the project portfolio has doubled to more than $ 9 billion today. The pace of investment in joint projects has also doubled.

The Bank praised the ongoing and irreversible reforms in the country, including technical assistance in ensuring macroeconomic stability, modernization of the financial sector, energy, transport and infrastructure, and the realization of human potential.

The meeting focused on the development of a new program of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and the ADB.

It is also necessary to accelerate the introduction of a "green" economy, develop mechanisms for co-financing projects, expand programs to finance business, including women and youth entrepreneurship, introduce effective mechanisms of public-private partnership, support education and health projects. support has been identified as a priority area of ​​cooperation.

An agreement was reached between Uzbekistan and the Asian Development Bank on the joint adoption of a "road map" to promote the priorities of the strategic partnership.
