The rector of Samarkand State University was elected the president of the Association of Asian Universities

The Congress of the Association of Asian Universities was held in Russia as part of the 5th international educational forum "Altay-Asia". Rectors and vice-rectors of 72 universities from 8 countries and a total of 112 delegates took part in it.

Rector of Samarkand State University, scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rustam Kholmurodov participated in this forum online.

Issues such as summarizing the work of 2020-2022, accepting and confirming new members of the association, and electing the president and vice-presidents of the Association of Asian Universities were discussed at the meeting.

With the latest decision, the rector of Samarkand State University was elected as the new president of the Association of Asian Universities. The term of office of the president of the association is two years, including the years 2022-2024.
