The replacement of the old driver's license will be suspended

The driver's license replacement service will be temporarily closed from March 19 to April 2 due to maintenance work.

It is known that the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 116 of March 2, 2017 introduced new models of the national driver's license and the certificate of registration of motor vehicles in plastic form.

According to preliminary estimates, it would take an average of 4 years for full coverage when 55-60 citizens apply to each certificate exchange point per day. Currently, 500-600 citizens apply a day.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Justice, the service for changing the driver's license will be temporarily suspended from March 19 to April 2 due to maintenance work.

It should be noted that the number of drivers with old-fashioned driving licenses in the country is about 5.7 million. Accordingly, the deadlines for mandatory replacement of old driver's licenses have been extended twice by the Government (initially from 2020 to the end of 2021, and then from 2021 to the end of 2022).

Also, in order to evenly distribute the volume of replacement of driver's licenses throughout the year, to prevent their accumulation at the end of the year at the place of replacement, the deadlines for replacement of licenses were stratified (for example, licenses issued before 2010 to April 2022, 2012 to July 2022).
