The Tashkent International Film Festival will be held on September 13-18 of this year
The program of the Tashkent International Film Festival "Jewel of the Silk Road" includes the days of cinema of SCO member states, world, documentary, national and retro cinema. Takeshi Kitano, Armand Assante, Burak Ozchevit, Sergey Bezrukov, Johnny Depp (online) and Timur Bekmambetov are expected to participate in the opening ceremony.
About 500 film workers, actors and actresses, directors and cameramen, producers and film critics, mass media representatives from 40 countries of the world are expected to visit the Tashkent film festival.
As part of the international event, 150 feature, documentary and short films of world producers will be shown. It is noted that most of them are winners of other international film festivals and competitions. During the days of the film festival, more than 20 events related to film production, education, film screenings and the filmmaking process will be held.
This year, guests will be presented with the first cinema cluster in Central Asia, established on the basis of the House of Cinematographers. The largest screen in the CIS countries is installed in the main hall, which displays an image in DCP format. Also, the "Newest unique panoramic pavilion" built on the territory of the "Uzbekfilm" film concern will be presented.
"The pavilion allows filming of films at the highest modern artistic and technological level using Stagecraft technology," said the organizers of the film festival. During this period, the first batch of photo archive and multimedia equipment for voice acting, digital processing, filming in 3D format will be received from Europe. A new summer pavilion located on the territory of "Uzbekfilm" is presented. Its area is 2500 square meters, and it will be possible to hold large-scale public events here.
Days of cinema of the SCO countries, days of world cinema, days of documentary films, days of retro cinema, day of cinema of Uzbekistan, Kinoforum are planned to be held within the framework of the film festival. Also, more than 50 events, roundtables and forums, master classes and creative meetings will be held. About 20 memorandums and agreements on the creation of productions in cooperation with dozens of countries of the world are planned to be signed at this festival.
