The UN Secretary-General recognized Mongolia as the only territory free of nuclear weapons

During his visit to Mongolia, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres declared the UN's complete unity with the country and called Mongolia a "symbol of peace on a troubled planet."

He noted that in a world where sharp geopolitical contradictions and large-scale conflicts prevail, Mongolia as a territory free of nuclear weapons is an example for many other countries.

"For the first time in decades, we live in a world where people think there could be a nuclear war again. There is only one condition that we can be completely sure that a nuclear war will not become a reality, which is the complete destruction of such weapons," said Antonio Guterres.

The parties also discussed the geopolitical situation in the region, the problems faced by Mongolia as a country with no access to the sea, and national efforts to combat climate change.
