The UN Secretary General urged to stop conflicts and unite in the fight against coronavirus

On September 14, the 76th session of the UN General Assembly began its work in New York. The new President of the UN General Assembly, Abdullah Shahid from the Maldives, said that the current session will focus on issues of poverty and climate change.
«If we can unite, we will be able to vaccinate the world by the end of 2022», – Shahid said.
Antonio Guterres called for increased efforts to vaccinate against coronavirus. He also noted that the scale of inequality is growing in all areas-from education to access to medicine, including COVID-19 vaccines. According to him, if some people take food, water and medical care for granted, for others it remains a dream.
«Wars against each other must end. It is time to focus on the fight against the common enemy of humanity - the pandemic», – the UN Secretary General stressed.
