Trade and investment agreements worth $8 billion signed

Following the Uzbek-Kazakh summit, a ceremony of signing bilateral documents was held.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed historic documents - the Treaty of Alliance Relations and the Agreement on Demarcation of Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan State Border.

In addition, 15 documents have been signed at the level of governments, ministries and agencies, as well as major companies of the two countries, to further enhance multifaceted cooperation.

These include the agreements on establishment of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation "Central Asia", on cooperation in the field of environmental protection, on cooperation in higher and post-graduate education, and the protocol on amendments to the intergovernmental agreement on conditions for mutual trips of citizens of July 7, 2000.

The sides adopted memorandums on strategic reforms, development of electronic trade, forestry, civil service, road maps to enhance cooperation between Tashkent and Turkestan, Navoi and Kizilorda, Jizzakh and Turkestan regions, as well as agreements on implementation of projects in energy, chemical industry, transport and logistics.

Also during the visit, trade contracts and investment agreements worth $8 billion were signed.
