Transport-Logistics: Gross Domestic Product to reach $100 billion in 2026

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khojayev chaired a meeting with entrepreneurs providing services in transport and logistics on 21 September. The meeting focused on further increase in international traffic and diversification of transport corridors.

The meeting was attended by heads of ministries and agencies, industry associations, commercial banks, as well as more than 50 leaders of major transport and forwarding companies, manufacturers and exporters.

Issues and proposals related to the transportation of export products to international markets, and in particular the problems faced by air carriers, railway and road transport companies, were examined in detail during the dialogue.

Highlighted was the consistent growth of the country's production and export potential, made possible by the attraction of foreign direct investment into the economy. In 2026 the Gross Domestic Product is projected to reach $100 billion and exports to reach $30 billion. In this context, the issues and barriers arising in export-import operations have been analysed.

Following to the results of the analysis of raised issues and proposals, it was instructed to form a working group consisting of heads of relevant ministries and departments to develop a set of targeted measures to ensure stability of exports by domestic producers.
