Turkestan is the spiritual capital of the Turkic world

An informal summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States (hereinafter - the Turkic Council) was held on March 31, 2021 via videoconference on the topic "Turkestan - the spiritual capital of the Turkic world."

The meeting was chaired by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev. It was attended by the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy, Honorary Chairman of the Council Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking countries Baghdad Amreev.

The meeting was opened by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev. The head of state stressed that the holiday of spring - Navruz as a holiday of all Turkic peoples. He also highlighted the significant political and socio-economic progress achieved by the Turkic-speaking states over the past decades, praising the evolution of multilateral relations in the Turkic world and expressing his strong commitment to further deepen cooperation between the Turkic states.

As a result of the unofficial summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council), the Turkestan Declaration was adopted.
