Uzbek and Kazakh Presidents canvassed issues of further strengthening strategic partnership and allied relations

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, had a telephone conversation with Kasyym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on January 20.
The two leaders discussed the bilateral agenda and current issues of regional cooperation.
It was noted with satisfaction that political relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are developing rapidly, trade and cooperation are growing, interregional and cultural-humanitarian exchanges are intensifying.
Emphasis was placed on expanding practical cooperation, including the promotion of joint projects in trade and logistics, machinery, energy, agriculture, chemistry and pharmaceuticals, textiles and food, and other priority areas.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed support for the measures taken by the President of Kazakhstan to stabilize the situation in the country.
Presidents also exchanged views on regional security issues. Plans for future summits have been considered.
The telephone conversation was, as always, open, practical and friendly.
