Uzbek representatives are taking part in the Global Summit on Disability

The Second Global Summit on Disability (GDS22) commenced on February 16, 2022. Given the context of the coronavirus pandemic, the two-day conference is being held online.

The event was attended by the First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Akmal Saidov.

The international event is organized by the governments of Norway and Ghana and the International Alliance for Persons with Disabilities (IDA). It is attended by heads of influential international organizations, heads of state and government, officials of relevant ministries and organizations, representatives of the private sector and civil society activists.

The Global Summit discusses the prospects for implementing inclusive development requirements that will lead to concrete and practical changes in the lives of people with disabilities, based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
