Uzbek-Tajik joint venture silk production in Tajikistan studied

Officials of the Uzbekkipaksanoat Association were in Sughd province of Tajikistan and held talks with regional government officials on the introduction of the Uzbek cocooning experience in Tajikistan.

As is known, based on the declaration signed by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on 2 June this year, a memorandum has been signed between the Silk Industry Development Committee and the Ministry of Light Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan to develop cooperation in the silk industry.

In order to ensure the implementation of this memorandum, responsible officials of the "Uzbekipaksanoat" association are now in Tajikistan for the second time. On the first day of the tour, members of the delegation were in Sughd province and held talks with regional government officials on the introduction of Uzbek cocooning experience in Tajikistan.

They also studied the activities of the "Samarkand Sogd Silk" enterprise, which has been established on the basis of a memorandum between "Kumush Tola" Ltd of Samarkand Region and "Atlasi Khodjent" enterprises of Khodjent city.

The joint Uzbek-Tajik silk enterprise "Samarkand Sughd Silk" is located in Khojent, Tajikistan. The enterprise specialises in processing cocoons and producing silk products.

It is noted that the next phases of this project will involve the production of satin and adras fabrics with "Margilan expertise".
