Uzbekistan and the Netherlands will intensify joint efforts to prevent illegal migration

Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Netherlands held a meeting with officials of the Migration Service of the Ministry of Justice and Security of the Netherlands to provide consular legal assistance to citizens of Uzbekistan detained in the temporary detention center for foreign nationals.

According to the analysis of the Uzbek embassy, the diplomatic mission enters the consular district (Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Luxembourg) through the citizens of Uzbekistan, mainly through the Baltic States, Poland, Romania and Bulgaria. Many of our compatriots come to Western Europe without visas, work and residence permits, believing in the false promises of illegal groups or individuals, and work in construction, transport, services, agriculture and other fields.

The meeting discussed issues such as intensifying bilateral cooperation to prevent the above-mentioned cases, in particular, the protection of the legal rights and interests of migrant workers.

At the end of the talks, an agreement was reached on the exchange of experience and cooperation in the field of migration, in particular, the fight against illegal migration, prevention of forced labor and human trafficking, the organization of mutual visits of officials of the two countries.
