Uzbekistan-Bangladesh: new prospects for the development of bilateral relations

The meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khodjaev with the Prime Minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina Wazed was held in Dhaka.
During the meeting, the current state of Uzbek-Bangladesh cooperation and the prospects of its activation in a wide range of directions were discussed. The parties noted that the governments of the two countries give priority to the further development of long-term and mutually beneficial relations.
In particular, joint work on increasing the volume of mutual trade, establishment of industrial cooperation and implementation of large high-tech projects in prospective industries of mutual interest was discussed.
Special attention was paid to measures to activate cooperation in the field of transport and tourism. Prospects of restoring direct air traffic on the route "Tashkent - Dhaka - Tashkent" were noted. According to the parties, this will lead to an increase in the volume of mutual passenger traffic and the expansion of opportunities for cultural and tourist exchange. It was also agreed to hold a number of cultural events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Bangladesh this year.
