Uzbekistan-Belarus: cooperation in science and technology

On April 24, the Prime Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Belarus held extended talks. The talks were held by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Roman Golovchenko.

During the meeting, Minister of Innovative Development Ibrahim Abdurahmanov briefed on the work being done between Uzbekistan and Belarus in the field of science and technology. The Minister noted that 15 projects implemented within the Uzbek-Belarusian joint research projects have been completed and are currently undergoing commercialization.

Also, within the framework of the 2nd type of joint competitions, a total of 2 million will be allocated. He noted that 30 scientific projects worth US dollars were financed. In addition, over the past 3 years, it has managed to organize internships of 200 young scientists and researchers to Belarusian research institutes.

During the talks, a memorandum was signed between the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and a program of scientific, technical and innovative cooperation for 2022-2023. The documents were signed by Deputy Minister of Innovation Development Shahlo Turdikulova and First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Belarus Sergei Chizhik, as well as Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology of Belarus Sergei Sherbakov.

Under the program of scientific, technical and innovative cooperation between the two countries, the parties agreed to continue to support joint research projects, organize scientific events, improve the skills of scientists, develop scientific infrastructure and transfer technology.
