Uzbekistan-Brazil: Cooperation prospects

On June 21, 2022, Sardor Umurzakov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the Republic of Uzbekistan Rodrigo Soares.

During the talks, the sides discussed the development of relations and prospects for expanding them in priority areas. Parties expressed mutual interest in the development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation within international platforms and organizations.

The issues of deepening investment, trade and economic partnership were discussed in detail. Significant prospects were noted for establishing industrial cooperation in various sectors, including mining and processing of minerals, production of fertilizers and other chemical products, livestock and poultry farming, as well as cultivation and processing of soybeans, corn and sugarcane. Specific measures were considered to establish direct and regular dialogue between the business communities of the two countries, including the organization of mutual business missions and industry exhibitions.

After exchanging views on other important issues on the agenda of bilateral cooperation, including cooperation in the field of tourism, education and Uzbekistan's accession to the World Trade Organization, it was agreed to take further steps to promote and implement the agreements reached.
