Uzbekistan establishes diplomatic relations with the Co-operative Republic of Guyana

The Co-operative Republic of Guyana became the 142nd country with which Uzbekistan has established diplomatic relations.
A joint communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and the Co-operative Republic of Guyana was signed on 10 October 2022 in New York.
The document was signed on behalf of the two governments by Bakhtiyor Ibragimov, Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the UN, and Carolyn Rodrigues Birkett, Permanent Representative of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana to the UN.
The sides confirmed interest in consolidating joint collaboration within international organizations, including the UN and its specialized agencies. Both sides agreed to maintain bilateral contacts in the search for mutually beneficial areas of cooperation.
The signing of the document has become an important step towards boosting interaction between Uzbekistan and South American countries.
