Uzbekistan has become one of the most popular destinations for Russian tourists

The flow of tourists between Russia and Uzbekistan is growing, and by the end of 2022 it may exceed the pre-pandemic figure.

"The flow of tourists between our countries has been growing since 2017. This shows that by the end of 2022 it may exceed the pre-pandemic figure. An important step that has contributed to the growth of tourist flows is the arrival of Russian tourists in Uzbekistan. It has been simplified,” said Artem Prokofiev, a member of Russia's Committee for Tourism and Tourism Infrastructure Development.

According to him, following the May holidays, Uzbekistan has become one of the most popular destinations for foreign tourism in the Russian Federation.

"Almost a quarter of foreign tourists visiting Uzbekistan are from Russia," Prokofiev added.

He also said that according to Rosturizm, Uzbekistan is currently the most developed tourist destination in the entire post-Soviet space.

"There are up to 100 flights a week. We consider this a very promising area of cooperation," he said.
