Uzbekistan-Israel: Discussion on cooperation expansion prospects

On May 17, Sardor Umurzakov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, received a delegation led by the Minister of Tourism of Israel, Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Commission between Uzbekistan and Israel Yoel Razvozov.

The meeting was also attended by heads of foreign ministries and diplomatic missions from both countries.

A number of key issues of Uzbek-Israeli cooperation in politics, economy, investment, commerce, culture and tourism were canvassed in a constructive manner.

Both sides are interested in strengthening inter-parliamentary ties, intensifying cooperation within global and regional international organizations, in particular, developing dialogue within the United Nations, as well as increasing the number of mutual visits at various levels.

Parties stressed the importance of joint work to develop trade and economic partnership. It was agreed to develop joint measures to increase the volume of bilateral trade and diversify its nomenclature, and to establish a joint working group consisting of deputy heads of foreign trade agencies of the two countries.

It is also planned to involve Israeli companies in the implementation of projects in Uzbekistan in the fields of textile, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, agriculture, healthcare and tourism.
