Uzbekistan-Korea: Symposium on Sustainable Management of Cultural Heritage in Uzbekistan was held in Samarkand

On November 26, 2021, an Uzbek-Korean symposium on the topic “Sustainable management of cultural heritage in Uzbekistan” was held at the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage “Silk Road” in Samarkand.

The organizers were the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Cultural Heritage Agency of Uzbekistan, the Cultural Heritage Administration and the Cultural Heritage Fund of the Republic of Korea

The symposium is dedicated to the completion of the first stage of the project “Increasing the potential and improving the material and technical base of the museum in Uzbekistan”, implemented by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports in conjunction with the Republic of Korea.

The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov in an online format, Director General of the Bureau for the Promotion of Heritage of the Administration of Cultural Heritage R. Korea Yi Kyung Hoon, Program Manager of the Korean Cultural Heritage Fund Kim Dong Ha and Deputy General ODA Director of Cultural Heritage John Bamhwan; heads of museums and galleries in Uzbekistan, as well as leading industry experts.
