Uzbekistan participated in the annual meeting of the Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

The Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is being held both offline and online in Morocco on May 10-12.
The meeting was attended by the Governor of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade S. Umurzakov from the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The event is attended by 71 shareholders of the Bank, including Governors and their deputies from 69 countries, the EU and the European Investment Bank, as well as the Bank's management and international experts.
As part of the program, a plenary meeting of the Board of Governors was held on May 11. The event discussed current trends in the global and regional economy, the Bank's post-COVID activities to support economic growth in its member countries, measures to develop a "green" economy and the fight against climate change, as well as a number of institutional issues related to the EBRD's practical and financial activities.
Speaking at the plenary session, S. Umurzakov noted that Uzbekistan's cooperation with the EBRD is stable and strategic. In 2021, Uzbekistan became the largest recipient of the Bank's investments in the Central Asian region, one of the five largest recipients of the Bank's funds, and last year the EBRD's investments in the country's economy exceeded 600 million euros.
