Uzbekistan proposes to provide body cameras for medical workers

It is noted that in this way situations such as rudeness towards doctors, raising hands and violent beatings against them can be avoided.
In order to prevent such unpleasantness, the draft law "On introducing amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the establishment of liability for obstructing the activities of medical workers" is currently being discussed in the lower chamber of parliament.
"It is very unfortunate that cases of attacks on medical workers are becoming one of the vices in our society. I believe that the most effective way to prevent this is to increase responsibility for unlawful acts. In my opinion, an act should be qualified as bullying if the person is also clearly aware that at the same time he is violating public order and openly showing disrespect to society.
For this purpose I think it is necessary to introduce an additional clause to the norm of the Criminal Code providing for responsibility for hooliganism, which provides for committing a crime against a person performing his official or civil duty or his close relatives.
At the same time, the amount of fines should be increased in cases when an ambulance is prevented from entering the street. In particular, there is a need to define such concepts as 'medical worker', 'medical aid' and to establish that interference with the activities of medical workers is punishable by law in an appropriate manner.
In my opinion, medical personnel should also be provided with a body camera. For example, internal affairs officers have such devices. I think that through this will increase the responsibility of both citizens and medical workers, violence will be eliminated", - commented Kizilgul Kasimova, member of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.
