Uzbekistan-Russia: issues of strengthening bilateral relations

On September 15, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, who arrived in Samarkand to participate in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, negotiated.
The head of state warmly welcomed the high-ranking guest and expressed gratitude for his participation in the Samarkand summit of the SCO.
Vladimir Putin, in turn, thanked Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the sincere hospitality as always, highly appreciated that cooperation between our countries is developing rapidly and efficiently at all levels.
The parties noted with pleasure that in subsequent years the multifaceted Uzbek-Russian partnership has reached an unprecedented high level.
Mutually beneficial trade and economic relations are expanding. Through joint efforts, the turnover increased more than twice, and over the past seven months, mutual trade increased by more than 30%. It is noteworthy that 70% of the volume of bilateral trade consists of products with high added value.
Industrial cooperation is developing at an accelerated pace. In subsequent years, more than 100 joint projects were launched in mining and Metallurgy, fuel and Energy, Chemical, Agricultural, Mechanical Engineering, Textile and other industries.
The parties agreed, first of all, to adopt a comprehensive action plan for the development of an industrial-technological partnership in the electronics, pharmaceutical, textile and sewing-knitwear industries.
Within the framework of this visit, it was noted that new investment agreements in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, petrochemical and geology worth $ 4.6 billion are being signed.
