Uzbekistan-Saudi Arabia: major investment projects worth $ 2.7 billion

On August 11 of this year, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan-Minister of investments and foreign trade Jamshid Khodjaev received the extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (SAP) to the Republic of Uzbekistan Yusuf Al – Utaibi.

During the negotiations, the current state and prospects for the development of relations between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia, cooperation within international organizations, as well as work to prepare for a number of bilateral events in the near future were discussed.

The parties highly appreciated the activation of multifaceted relations between the two countries in recent years, in particular, the rapid expansion of cooperation in the investment, energy and trade and economic spheres.

It was also noted that the number of joint ventures with the capital of Saudi Arabia operating in Uzbekistan has reached 36, 4 large investment projects worth $ 2.7 billion, as well as a number of socially oriented projects with a total value of $ 287 million are being actively implemented.

Measures were considered in detail to prepare for the upcoming bilateral events aimed at activating interaction between the business and government circles of the two countries.
