Uzbekistan-Serbia Foreign Ministries: Protocol on cooperation and consultations signed

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Nikola Selakovic on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.

During the meeting, issues of enhancing bilateral cooperation in politics, trade, investment, education, as well as developing cultural and humanitarian dialogue have been discussed.

In order to effectively realise the considerable trade and economic potential of both Uzbekistan and Serbia, joint measures have been suggested to expand the range of goods, create and hold the Uzbek-Serbian inter-governmental commission, carry out investment projects in agriculture, chemical and energy sectors.

An agreement has been reached to elaborate a range of bilateral agreements on protection and encouragement of investments, attraction of human resources, cooperation in agriculture, certification as well as cooperation in science and technology.

Following the meeting, a protocol on cooperation and consultations has been signed between the Foreign Ministries of Uzbekistan and Serbia, which provides for political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
