Uzbekistan-Singapore business forum: 23 agreements and contracts signed

Uzbek-Singaporean business forum aimed at comprehensive strengthening of business relations between entrepreneurs of the two countries was held in Singapore on January 16 on the eve of state visit of the President of Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Mr. Laziz Kudratov; Minister of Commerce and Industry of Singapore Mr. Gan Kim Yong; Chairman of the Singapore Business Federation Mr. Lim Min Yang; heads of relevant ministries and agencies, industry associations, as well as over 200 representatives of leading corporations, holdings and companies from both countries.

The participants focused on the positive dynamics of deepening interaction between the business communities of the two countries, which has resulted in the development and implementation of new investment projects, the development of trade and industrial cooperation.

In turn, the Singapore side reaffirmed its determination to provide support for consolidation and enhancement of partnership with Uzbekistan in a wide range of areas. Chemical, textile, pharmaceutical, agricultural industries, education, healthcare, logistics as well as the IT sphere have been identified as drivers of further interaction.

The forum's programme continued with a plenary session with the participation of Singapore's big business leaders. Also, B2B negotiations and presentations of investment potential of our country, as well as specific cases of projects in various sectors of the economy of Uzbekistan have been organized within the forum.

At the end of the business forum, 23 agreements and contracts have been signed in trade and investment and financial sectors, chemical, energy and textile industries, development of industrial zones, implementation of infrastructure projects and production of food products, as well as in construction, education, healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
