Uzbekistan to host International Pilgrimage Tourism Week

On November 1-3, the International Pilgrimage Tourism Week will be held in Uzbekistan.
The main goal of the international week is to reveal the potential of pilgrim tourism in our country, to make Uzbekistan one of the most important centres of world civilization, to get high recognition of the world community and international organizations, as well as to diversify the services of pilgrim tourism and increase tourism export.
The Tourism Week is an initiative of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in cooperation with a number of organizations.
The weekly programme includes exhibitions, seminars, scientific conferences and cultural and educational events aimed at developing pilgrim tourism and promoting themed souvenirs. The week-long programme includes the opening of the new "Silk Road Tourism Centre" in Samarkand, an international exhibition of crafts with the theme 'Khiva - the Tourism Capital of the Islamic World', a fair of 'World Craftsmen', and other events.
