Uzbekistan - Turkey: Strengthening Bilateral Relation

The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Uzbekistan Olgan Bekar.
 Opening the meeting, the head of the Uzbek delegation congratulated O. Bekar on his appointment to a responsible position and wished him success in his future professional activities.
 During the dialogue, a high level of mutual understanding was noted in resolving a wide range of issues of common interest, as well as the intensity of bilateral interaction at various levels.
 The emphasis was placed on the development of investment cooperation: it was emphasized that since 2019, the volume of Turkish investments in the economy of Uzbekistan amounted to about $ 950 million, and the number of enterprises with the participation of Turkish capital operating in the Republic amounted to 1,576.
The sides highlighted the joint technical projects implemented in Uzbekistan with Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TICA).
 Positive trends were noted in increasing trade between the two countries.  For example, in the first two months of this year, the volume of mutual trade increased by 27.6 percent.
 The parties identified further steps to strengthen trade cooperation and bring the volume of trade to $ 5 billion in the near future
