Uzbekistan-Turkiye: potential for multilateral cooperation

On August 2, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mavlud Cavusoglu, who was in Tashkent to participate in the first ministerial meeting in the format "Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan-Turkiye".

Trade Minister Mehmet Mush and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Odil Karaismoiloglu took part in the meeting as part of the Turkish delegation.

The issues of further expansion of multilateral cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the implementation of agreements reached at a high level were discussed.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Mavlud Cavusoglu conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the leader of our country. It is worth noting that the Turkish side fully supports the program of socio-economic reforms and political renewal being implemented in New Uzbekistan, as well as the foreign policy of our country, which is primarily aimed at strengthening friendship, good neighborliness and trust relations in the region.

The parties noted with satisfaction that the wide-scale strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and Turkiye are consistently developing and practical cooperation is strengthening.

The indicators of mutual trade and investments are growing rapidly, active humanitarian exchanges continue.

Opinions were exchanged on the regional agenda, including support for peace and stability in Afghanistan and preparation for the summit of the Organization of Turkic States to be held in Samarkand this fall.
