Uzbekistan-Ukraine: intensifying joint efforts

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Uzbekistan Nikolai Doroshenko.

During the conversation, they discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation in the field of investment, industrial cooperation, trade, transport and culture, the press service of the MIVT reports.

The parties noted the need to intensify joint efforts to further expand and diversify mutual trade and ensure the growth of its volumes up to $ 1 billion a year in the near future.

There are significant prospects for cooperation in the field of industrial cooperation in the chemical, petrochemical, metallurgical, food, pharmaceutical and ICT sectors. The initiative to establish industrial cooperation in the field of mechanical engineering and the production of oil and gas equipment was also considered.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation in the field of agriculture through the creation of joint agro-industrial enterprises for the cultivation and processing of demanded crops.

The urgency of taking joint measures to enhance interregional cooperation and organizing mutual visits of delegations of business circles of the two countries was also noted.
