Uzbekistan - UN: priority directions of cooperation on sustainable development in the Aral Bay region were determined

A meeting was held at the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade between the Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Badriddin Abidov and the Permanent Coordinator of the UN in Uzbekistan Roli Asthana.

During the meeting, the priority areas of cooperation with the United Nations aimed at sustainable development of the Aral Bay region and support of the Multilateral Partnership Trust Fund for Human Security for the Aral Bay region, raising the standard of living in the region were discussed. the process of implementation of approved projects was discussed.

In particular, the parties discussed the issue of holding the next meeting of the Trust Fund management committee on the selection of project proposals for financing and subsequent implementation in the Aral Bay region.

Measures to ensure the implementation of the activities of the Trust Fund in 2024-2030 were also discussed. In particular, a new strategy aimed at strengthening the role of the Fund in coordinating the attraction of financial resources of donor countries to the Aral Bay region will be developed.
