Uzbekistan-USA: prospects for the development of multifaceted cooperation

On August 10 this year, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan-Minister of investments and foreign trade Jamshid Khodjaev held a meeting with the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan Daniel Rosenblum.
During the negotiations, topical issues of the agenda of the Uzbek-American multifaceted cooperation were discussed. Thanks to mutual interest and the desire to establish multilateral relations, achievements in the direction of bilateral and Regional Partnership were noted with satisfaction.
During the negotiations, the parties comprehensively considered the prospects for deepening cooperation in the trade and economic sphere. In particular, it was noted that in the first half of 2022, mutual turnover increased by 31%, and this figure reached 247.5 million dollars. Specific measures have been established to accelerate trade relations and expand the nomenclature of import-export operations.
During the meeting, other mutually beneficial issues of bilateral relations were also considered. For example, within the framework of the development of "green" energy, agriculture and youth entrepreneurship, it was agreed to continue cooperation with the US Agency for International Development (USAID), as well as to activate cooperation with the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) in the implementation of various projects in promising areas.
