Uzbekistan-World Bank: portfolio of projects in priority sectors exceeds $8 billion in 30 years

The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is meeting with a World Bank delegation led by Vice President Anne Bjerde.

Over 30 years of partnership the portfolio of projects in priority sectors has exceeded $8 billion.

The agenda of the negotiations includes the promotion of a programme of social and economic reforms with the support of this leading international financial institution.

The focus is on improving living standards in rural areas, accelerating the privatisation of state-owned enterprises, transforming agriculture, modernising the social sector, increasing the energy efficiency of the economy and other issues.
