"The tourism sector was defined by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev as one of the strategic directions of the country's national economy. Uzbekistan and Japan have great potential in the field of tourism. The history of Japanese travel to Uzbekistan goes back centuries, because trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian relations of this country developed through the Great Silk Road. The countries of Central Asia with a large number of natural and cultural heritage sites undoubtedly have a huge tourist potential. With such a potential, we will certainly show our best tourist destinations to tourists tired of the pandemic", – said Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abduhakimov, who opened the stand of Uzbekistan at the JATA Tourism Expo Japan 2022 international exhibition, and the participants of the exhibition and the Japanese tourism business.
