Violation of state symbols is grounds for criminal punishment

According to the law, designations representing state symbols may not be used for commercial purposes to promote the goods (works, services) produced or sold.

Violation of the legislation on the State flag, coat of arms or anthem leads to a fine

—for citizens up to three BCV (up to 900 thousand UZS) and for officials from three to seven BCV (from 900 thousand soums to 2.1 million UZS).

The same offence committed repeatedly carries a fine:

—for citizens three to five BCV (from 900 thousand soums to 1.5 million UZS) and for officials seven to ten BCV (from 2.1 million UZS to 3 million UZS).

Also, desecration of the State flag, coat of arms or anthem is punishable by:

—A fine of up to 25 BCV (up to 7.5 million UZS) or compulsory community service for up to 360 hours or correctional labour for up to 3 years.
