Vladimir Norov holds meeting with UN Under-Secretary-General

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov held a meeting with the United Nations Under-Secretary-General, Head of UN Counter-Terrorism Department Vladimir Voronkov in New York.

During the discussion, the sides noted with satisfaction that cooperation of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the UN and its agencies has been elevated to a qualitatively new level and enriched with practical substance.

It has been stressed that there is scope for further consolidation of partnership in areas of common interest, including within the framework of the Joint Action Plan to Implement the UN Global Counterterrorism Strategy in Central Asia and the Roadmap for bilateral cooperation.

V. Voronkov highly appreciated the wide-ranging reforms underway in our country and the active efforts of the republic to expand international and regional cooperation. The successful chairmanship of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the significant results of the recently held SCO summit in Samarkand have been emphasized.
