WHO chief: «The world is not ready for a new wave of pandemic!»

The head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Ghebreyesus, is seriously concerned about the start of a new wave of the pandemic in the world. He noted that humanity is not ready for a new wave of diseases if the coronavirus flares up again.
“We are now in the middle of a pandemic,” said the WHO director general. “If a new mutation appears, we must resist in every possible way!”
Therefore, T. Ghebreyesus called on all countries to strictly follow the recommendations for combating COVID-19. In particular, it is necessary to increase the rates of vaccination against the disease. This serves to prevent the start of a new wave of the pandemic.
Experts say that at present the strain "Omicron" Variant VA.5 poses a great danger to human health.
This mutation is quite contagious and differs in that it causes severe complications. In particular, it can pose a serious danger, especially to unvaccinated populations over 60-65 years of age, as well as to overweight people and chronic diseases such as diabetes and kidney failure.
