Winners of tenders for construction of three solar photovoltaic stations in our country identified

Winners of tenders for construction and operation of 3 solar photovoltaic stations with total capacity of 500 MW in Bukhara, Namangan and Khorezm regions were announced.

This project is implemented with the support of International Finance Corporation under the 'Project Development and Consultancy Services Programme for Construction of Solar Photovoltaic Plants with a Total Capacity of 1000 MW' (IFC Scaling Solar Programme).

Phase 1 (RFQ) tender for the project was held on 31 August 2021 and 11 international companies were successful. Phase 2 (RFP), on the other hand, ended on 11 November 2022, when 4 companies out of 11 submitted their bids by the deadline. These are: Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company- Masdar (UAE) - 3 projects, Alarko Holding AS (Turkey) - Medium and Small Project, GD Power - Powerchina Consortium (China) - 3 projects, Voltalia SA (France) - Small Project.

Based on the results of the tender:

Masdar (UAE) won the 250 MW project in Bukhara region.
GD Power - PowerChina consortium won the 150 MW project in Namangan region.
Voltalia SA was declared the winner of a 100 MW project in Khorezm region.
The winning investors are involved in the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of solar photovoltaic plants.

Public-private partnership and state support agreements are planned to be signed with the winners in Q1 2023 and construction works are to start in Q4 2023, and commissioning of these plants in Q4 2024, and discussions will continue.
