Central Election Committee held a meeting on preparations for the Presidential elections

A meeting of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held on April14, 2021.The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan Zainiddin Nizamhodjaev.Thr program of the main measures for preparation for the elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and a number of draft regulations of the Central Election Commission on the elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan were the topics of discussion.It was especially noted that the presidential elections this year will be held in a completely new environment, in full compliance with the updated national electoral legislation, universally recognized international standards and on the basis of democratic principles.The presidential elections will become another vivid embodiment of modern democratic ideas, reflected in the Action Strategy for the five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021.The elections will be held against the background of increasing the political and legal culture of voters in New Uzbekistan. At the same time, the creation of the necessary organizational and legal conditions before the first stage of preparation for the elections - the announcement of the election campaign, is an important task for all election organizers.Based on these tasks, the meeting discussed in detail and approved the program of the main activities in preparation for the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.The program details the upcoming step-by-step work on preparation, together with partner organizations, for the presidential elections, which will be held for the first time on the basis of the Electoral Code, and also specifies the deadlines for the implementation of tasks and responsible executors.First of all, it is important to provide legal and methodological support for the process of preparing for the elections, timely and efficiently organize work to strengthen the knowledge and skills of participants in the electoral process about electoral legislation. To this end, seminars, trainings, training sessions, conferences, round tables and other events, including online conferences, will be held for members of all district and precinct election commissions.It was emphasized that the current presidential elections will be an important test for all election organizers in terms of ensuring the continuation of large-scale reforms begun in our country, confident steps of our people on the path of building a new Uzbekistan.
