The EU will provide financial assistance to the neighboring countries of Afghanistan

The EU plans to provide a $ 600 million aid package to neighboring countries with Afghanistan to prevent a migration crisis there, the Financial Times newspaper writes.

It is noted that the EU countries are preparing an aid package to avoid a situation similar to the migration crisis of 2015, when more than 1 million migrants arrived in Europe due to the war in Syria.

On August 31, the interior ministers of the 27 EU countries held an emergency meeting to discuss the situation in Afghanistan. The EU Council has adopted a statement stating that it will strengthen support for countries that will accept a large number of refugees.

Financial assistance can be sent to Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan and Iran, these funds will be used to help countries neighboring Afghanistan accept refugees.
