Tariff restrictions will be simplified for certain products

Work continues on the draft Free Trade Agreement with the Republic of Korea.

On September 24 of this year, regular intersessional negotiations on the draft Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea were held at the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan via videoconferencing.

The talks were attended by Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan B. Abidov and Director General for Free Trade Agreements of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea Yang Gi Uk.

The parties considered the draft Agreement, discussed the prospects for simplifying tariff restrictions in relation to certain goods.

During the talks, significant progress was noted, achieved in the process of agreeing a draft document following the results of the first round of negotiations held in April this year, as well as the professional work of experts from the two countries.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to intensify negotiations to reach practical results
as soon as possible. The schedule of upcoming events within the framework of the negotiation process and work in October and November of this year has been determined.
