Shavkat Mirziyoyev discussed with US congressmen ways to expand practical cooperation

The American delegation arrived in Uzbekistan within the framework of agreements on deepening bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation.

On October 6, Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of the House of Representatives of the United States of America Congress consisting of Congressmen Don Bacon, Doug Lamborne, Troy Nels and August Pfluger, the presidential press service reported.

The American delegation is in Uzbekistan within the framework of agreements on deepening bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation.

The meeting discussed issues of further expanding practical cooperation between the two countries.

The head of Uzbekistan highly appreciated active contacts and fruitful exchanges at the level of parliaments, their great contribution to the dynamic development of the Uzbek-American relations of strategic partnership.

The authority and activity of the Caucus on Uzbekistan, created in the US Congress, a parliamentary group to strengthen friendship and promote constructive dialogue, is growing and expanding. Currently, Caucus has initiated a number of important projects aimed at supporting multifaceted cooperation and reform programs in our country.

The congressmen especially noted that the implementation of the strategy of transformations in New Uzbekistan is an important factor in the country's sustainable progress and has already contributed to a noticeable increase in its authority in the international arena.

Sincere gratitude was also expressed for the support of humanitarian operations in Afghanistan.

During the conversation, the sides discussed projects and programs of cooperation both in the parliamentary line and with the leading states of Nebraska, Colorado and Texas, which are represented by the members of the American delegation.

Particular attention is paid to the establishment of cooperation in the field of innovation and industrial technology, IT, agriculture, green energy, healthcare and education.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the preparation of a joint "road map" and the organization of mutual visits of business missions.
