Celebration of the Independence Day of Uzbekistan in Washington

Mayor of the US capital Muriel Bowser signed a special statement in connection with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of independence of Uzbekistan.
According to the Embassy of our country in the United States, September 1, 2021 will be declared the "Independence Day of Uzbekistan in Washington".
The document notes that the United States was one of the first states to recognize the independence of Uzbekistan in 1991. The head of the American capital noted that the United States recognizes Uzbekistan as a geographical and populated center of Central Asia with its own language, territory and constitution in Central Asia, which fully meets American interests in ensuring stability, prosperity and security.
According to the proclamation, the United States and Uzbekistan solemnly celebrate close mutually beneficial cooperation in many areas, including border and regional security programs, economic projects, strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as the development of English language teaching.
The document pays special attention to the real achievements of the new period of US-Uzbek relations. According to her, important achievements are the opening of a branch of the American Webster University in Tashkent, strengthening the education system of Uzbekistan by providing a number of educational materials on information technologies and pedagogy of the United States.
