Political parties were allowed to hold mass events

The Ministry of Health has introduced changes to the rules for holding mass events for political parties with voters.
At a meeting of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held on July 23, 2021, the elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which will be held on October 24, 2021, were launched, and the start of the election campaign was officially announced.
In accordance with the Election Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, candidates for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and political parties are given the right to campaign through meetings with voters. Meetings with voters are held by candidates and political parties independently.
In this regard, at the next meeting of the republican special commission, some issues related to the creation of the necessary conditions for the active participation of political parties in the pre-election process were considered.
In particular, the commission's decision approved the proposals of political parties operating in the Republic of Uzbekistan on holding mass events, such as meetings with voters, in accordance with the electoral legislation.
At the same time, political parties were advised to pay attention to compliance with sanitary-epidemiological and quarantine requirements when holding meetings with voters, such as maintaining social distance between participants, observing a mask regime, using antiseptics, as well as vaccinating citizens invited to meetings against coronavirus infection. according to the press service of the Ministry of Health.
